Lennons without John celebrate Christmas
December 24th, 2012
Christmas, 1968, with the Lennon Sisters, Glen Campbell, and Bing Crosby. Now this is special! But how the heck did John Byner get in there?
Here’s more with the lovely Lennons from 1968. Months later, the Lennon Sisters’ father, William, would tragically become the first Lennon to be murdered by a deranged fan.
And the Lennons sing, “How’d you like to spend Christmas on Christmas Island?” Isn’t that what President Obama is doing?

P.S. Here’s Byner doing his Bing impression.

You know my near-manic and out-of-control love for all things Christmas. Much of it stems from our great Pratt Christmases, which I enjoyed up until 1983. Everything that led up to Christmas, including all the Rankin-Bass and Charlie Brown Christmas specials etc., just added to my excitement. I even loved these hokey “old fart” specials. The late Andy Williams was my favorite as I harbored a very secret crush on him.
Now it’s overkill with the commercials and even overplaying of the cherished Christmas cartoons, although I did miss most of them this year. I had them all on tape, but accidentally gave the box away to the Goodwill two years ago! (SOB!)
