The 911 call to the Cambridge, MA Police makes it clear that the caller was acting at the request of someone else, and she said nothing at all about race until she was asked by the police dispatcher. It sounds as though the dispatcher said, “Are they White, Black or Hispanic?” Listen starting at 2:00 into the audio clip.

This gives her a lot of credibility when she says that she did not speak with Sergeant Crowley at the scene, contrary to his filed report.
And the recording of Crowley’s radio calls does nothing to substantiate his claim that Professor Gates was loud and abusive.

The big loser in all of this is Obama. He’s lost the backing of cops nationwide, and he’s handed the Right the ammo they needed to question who Sonia Sotomayor will empathize with once she’s seated on the Supreme Court.

I nearly dozed off there. What happened here? I’ll tell you. Nothing happened here. This is pathetic. I’m ashamed of the whole lot of them. I guess the woman saw something and meant well by calling in, so it’s not her fault, but Gates! Sheesh! And my respect for Obama continues to plummet on a daily basis. It’s getting to the point that it’s almost embarrassing to be caught being an American!

Listen closely! The woman called only because of another, older, woman who presumably didn’t have a cell phone. Otherwise the caller wouldn’t have noticed anything. I wonder why, when Crowley provided Gates’ name, the station couldn’t instantly confirm him as being the resident at that address?

Whoops, I also meant to say CROWLEY, not Gates. Yes, and I realized my error about the woman who called when I reheard the tapes on the news this morning. Menopause turns yer brain to mush.

Our friends across the street are on vacation, and this morning I had to unlock their house so the cleaning lady could get in later. I was telling this to my friend Samjay, and he asked, “So when are you having beer with the President?” My laugh of the day.
