Happy birthday to me!

Cartoon by Charles M. Schulz, 1957
It is, of course, also my twin sister Jean’s birthday. No, we’re not identical. ![]()

Who gave you that record? HA! Great gag. Happy birthday, Dougie. I’m looking forward to my annual fix of Cherry Garcia!

Thanks, tastewar.
Dennis gave me that record exactly thirty years ago.

Happy b-day to you and your sister!
My b-day is coming too, I’m anxious because it will be my sweet sixteen! *.*

Hey Doug, it’s your Birthday! Wow - I haven’t heard that in 30 years! You sure can tell it’s post-Star Wars, but mixed in with some 50’s style spaceman stuff. Good sound for an old flexi disc - but you can only play it once a year!

Thank you, May! You’re only sixteen once — unless you decide otherwise, of course.

Yes, MisteRogers, it’s been thirty years since you heard that record. It’s the thickest flexi I know of. And now it’s gone from outer space to being in cyberspace.

Bon anniversaire Doug and Jean.

Merci, Davie!

I always dreamed in turning sixteen, because I thought (as a child) that then I’d be ”full grown”… not true at all, but that’s ok…
But I wish I had lived in another time… I don’t enjoy my generation very much. I wish I had seen ”A Charlie Brown Christmas” debut on TV in 1965, for example…
(I’m a huge Peanuts fan too!…)

May, you sound like a trailblazer, much like my daughter, who turns 13 in January. She doesn’t care for stuff from my childhood, but gets impatient with her peers and what they look up to, such as Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus. Still, enjoy your youth. It is fleeting! And always, ALWAYS, think before doing anything major that could affect you for the rest of your life. That said, “Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteen!” (nod to Neil Sedaka)

Hi! I hope everyone had and will have a very happy birthday!

Thanks, Joan! Actually, I wasn’t feeling very well, so I went home early from work and slept through the evening. We postponed my birthday dinner and cake till tonight.

jeaniebeanie, thanks for your advice! Unlike many young people, I try to listen to the elders… the adults… (I must admit that I don’t do it with my mother very often, but I always do it with Dad, because we come along much better).
hehehe
I can’t stand Britney and Miley Cyrus too! I like music from 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s
