Meet Prudence Bury!

August 5th, 2008

Thank you so much to comment writer Janis, for identifying the extraordinarily beautiful young woman who was with Pattie Boyd on the train with the Beatles in A Hard Day’s Night! She’s Prudence Bury-Fuchs, and here she is today, still lovely.

That photo is from a French article, and if you click here you can read a Google translation of it. And there’s another item about Pru, also translated, at this link.

Here’s something in English, about a fund-raiser that Pru organized. From postings such as this one, I would conclude that Pru is a real estate agent.

This is great! I’ve wondered for decades about the mystery girl on the train with Les Beatles, and now I know. Thanks again, Janis!

Yes, thanks, Janis! The mystery is finally solved. Boy, that is one bad French-English translation. Judy Garland is “him?” Well, I gave up and just read it in French. Much easier!

I’m already having a nice day, thanks to you, Janis. And you being from Spain, I’d say your English is better than most Americans.

A nice coincidence is that the book Prudence is holding in that photo is the same one I used to scan the photo of her with Paul.

That’s so cool how you can connect a moment from so many years ago to now in the time it took a signal from Spain to your server. Technology-what a concept! Thanks Janis! Doug piqued my curiousity with that photo!

I don’t know if Janis is in Spain, or from Spain. And what’s up the J names?? Jean, Joan, Jan and now Janis!

Hey, wow, thank you Janis! Good find. I’ve never seen these before. Prudence Bury is such a standout, and a conspicuously refined presence. If I were to compare her to other notable beauties I would say she is somewhat like Vivien Leigh, but with her ballet training also somewhat like Moira Shearer.
