Sibley on Snow
July 1st, 2008
When Laserdisc was the best home video format available, studios would release expensive, deluxe editions of movies with all sorts of extras. I bought a few of them, including a box set from Disney of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It came with a hardcover book that was co-written by none other than Brian Sibley.

The book was originally published in it’s own right and then re-issued with the laser disc set.
I wish it had been longer and more comprehensive, but it was (I think) the first of the books written about the film…

Viking published “The Making of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” in 1979. It’s a story book with most of the illustrations taken from animation drawings and pre-production sketches. There’s a short essay at the end by Steve Hulett.

Pop quiz! Which American actor’s father sings the part of the Prince in “Snow White?” I know, too easy, right Brian?
