American Idle

May 22nd, 2008

Here I am, plodding across the finish line of the Boston Marathon. I’ll probably buy a copy of this photo. If I do I’ll post it again without the watermark.

Buy it, sign it, and send me a copy for my “Celebrity Wall of Shame … er FAME!” Really! f course, you can just scan it and sign it, too. I’m really proud of the fact that you run the Boston Marathon almost every year, Dougie! I’m lucky to have a whole year when I don’t get sick with something and end up in the hospital!

I’m surprised that you didn’t say “Here’s the proof that I finished the Marathon!”

Ha! Besides the pun, Mr. Rogers is perhaps making a bit of an inside joke, in reference to something I sent him today.

I thought it WAS “proof” that you’d finished the marathon. But I know better. There is a stack of PROOF waiting for me back at the office to PROOF it after the holiday weekend.

Well at least I get the blog subject title, “American Idle”/Idol pun. Very clever! How long does it take you to come up with some of these titles, anyway? Are you just a genius, Doug, or do you lie awake at night until the inspiration comes to you? ; )

The sum total of what I knew about ‘American Idol’ was that a winner would be announced, and it would be one of two Davids. Based on that, I held onto this post until the day after the show’s finale specifically to capitalize on the pun.
