Petula Clark – 1949

After the silly kiddie stuff in The Huggetts Abroad, Petula was able to play a romantic role in Don’t Ever Leave Me, also from 1949. I hope her hair was done this way intentionally as part of the plot — otherwise, they should have fired Pet’s hairdresser!

  1. You’re right, that hairdo is an abomination. Have you checked out Pet’s official website? Just google and you’ll find there’s one for the UK and one for America. Apparently, she performs quite a bit with Andy Williams at his theatre in Branson, MO. Thanks to her incredible bone structure (that jaw line!), I don’t think Petula has had to have too much work done on her face. She looks great! She reminds me of Barbara Stanwyck, who only got better with each year and was absolutely stunning right up until the day she died.
