Post-Victory Colbert

November 9th, 2006

Here’s today’s obligatory sampler from The Colbert Report. After a very amusing exchange with Jon Stewart during the pass-off from The Daily Show, Colbert talks, and sings, with a previous guest — John Hall from the 70’s band Orleans, now a Congressman-elect. The complete show is available at Comedy Central.

Edit: If you happened to see the John Hall segment, you noticed an audio sync problem. So I’ve replaced it with The Word segment, which is funnier anyway. Some great pantomine acting by Colbert.

HA! You caught just the exact right frame when Stevie hit the “emergency donkey!!” The “Word” left me weak and sobbing with laughter on the floor, as always. I wonder who yelled “Do it?” a plant in the audience or he just sat there, KNOWNG somebody would yell it! I like to think the latter.

Except for the first two Flash videos I did, there’s nothing accidental about the preview frames. They don’t even have to come from the video, as seen in the postings with Groucho and This Island Earth.

I assume the “Do It” was a stage hand, just because they don’t want to leave things to chance. I assume the drink was cola with all of the fizz shaken out of it.
