Summer ↓ Falls

Summer is, alas, already over, but the local cable access channel just played a reminder of it (recorded with some obviously defective equipment).  Our town has a local band that has started a summer outdoor concert.  My wife Carol played one of the flute players.  Here she is, in the best frame I could find …

… and here I am with our son Eric, listening.  They did a great job,and it was a fun show!

Pratt’s Bats

With the presence of Eastern Equine Encephalitis and West Nile Virus here in Massachusetts, we’re hoping to get some tenants in our new bat house next spring. It has a Batman emblem on it, so I couldn’t resist. The bats will eat the mosquitoes, and that’s good, but what about rabid bats?
